Detroit is one of the biggest music centers of USA, with names like Eminem, Aretha Franklin or Stevie Wonder, but soon a new name is going to be added on the list: No Resolve.
Inspired by bands like Papa Roach, Hinder & Pop Evil, Sick Puppies or Buckcherry, No Resolve started their story in the metal word with Oscar Pegorraro (lead singer), Derek Bjornson (drummer), Dennis Patterson (bassist), Jason Hatmaker and Matty Shea (guitarists).
Even though the band was formed in 2009, their first EP “The New Beginning” was released in 2012. It had an unexpected success for a debut EP, especially the song “Get Me Out” which has more than 10 milion views on Youtube and it’s one of the anthems of the local hockey team, Detroit Red Wings.
In December 2016, No Resolve won the Linkin Park Stagelight prize also for “Get Me Out”.
After just one month, on 6th of January 2017, the band released their second EP, with more amazing songs like “Change It All” or “Love Me To Death”. The album went directly to the biggest tops of the world (#45 on iTunes rock and #10 in Billboard Heatseeker) and it was also featured on Amazon’s Hot New Releases.
Their ascension has been seen by Bryson Roatch, the brother of Papa Roach’s Jacoby Shaddix, who directed and shot the video single for “The Pusher”.
But where does the success come from? What plans are they having for 2019? I’ve talked a bit with Oscar and tried to get some answers.
RM: No Resolve is probably the best rock/metal band from Michigan and one of the best from USA right now. How does it feel? Were you expecting this when you started the band?
Oscar: Wow thanks so much for the compliment! We strive to get better with every show, and every song. We are definitely feeling the love of people connecting to our music, and we couldn’t be happier.
RM: Where does the name of the band come from?
Oscar: Quite a long time ago a demo song was written where the end of the song literally had “no resolve” to it. Sounded good but didn’t make sense in theory. The name has stuck since then.
RM: “Get Me Out” is probably the most well-known song. What inspired you to write the lyrics?
Oscar: “Get Me Out” is that song for us that seems to just never go out of style. Originally I wanted it to be relatable, and true. I think we ended up achieving that goal of being authentic!
RM: Should we expect new songs or a new album in 2019?
Oscar: You just may get a whole new album in 2019. We are writing and recording right now. Not only that it’s with the same producer that did “Get Me Out” so expect more of that sound!
RM: You have got a lot of fans in Europe. Are there any plans for a European tour?
Oscar: We were offered a tour in Europe this year, and had to turn it down. We’re hoping to get out there in 2019 for sure, with new songs!
RM: What is your message for your fans?
Oscar: Thank you so much for continually streaming/buying our music it means the world to us!
In my opinion, No Resolve has the potential to be as great as legendary bands as Papa Roach, Metallica or Slipknot. I’ve discovered them just few months before the release of “Unity” and I really loved the songs and especially the lyrics who are so powerful.
Good luck, guys, and I really hope that you’ll be known forever for your songs in Detroit, Michigan, all of USA and also in the rest of the world!
