Having collected over 1.1 million streams on SoundCloud with “South of the Border”, Summer Rain made a few key changes and is back to release their energetic, easy-going new single, “Girl” on March 20th. The small town boys continue to take on an emotional world of controversy and heartbreak with warmth, positivity, and rock n’ roll.

Summer Rain consists of three Canadian musicians with a passion for catchy grooves, warm melodies, and fresh ideas, taking influence from The Black Keys, The Rolling Stones, Cream, and The Who, among many others. These talented, young musicians come from the small coastal town of Qualicum Beach, where there are more retirement homes than you can shake a denture at. Perhaps that’s why their music is so youthful and vibrant, yet maintains the timelessness of classic radio hits, creating a compelling take on modern rock & roll revival.
Hours before their first show, Will asked “What should we wear?”: the only reply he got was from Josh stating “We should wear suits! That way we will look good even if we sound bad”. The band has been together since, dressed in suits and ties, constantly improving both their playing and showmanship through regular practices and shows.
The boys are currently working on an EP, promising to deliver authentic, ear-catching tunes that confront complex issues such as homelessness and mental health in such a light that has listeners letting loose and singing along.
