As promised last week Alex & The Fat Penguins released today the continuation of the story started in the song “N-am comori” (I have no treasures). It is about “Rai de Farisei” (Heaven of the Pharisees), with the same Oana Moșneagu as the protagonist, in a video filmed in December last year, with a 100% in-house production.
The song is taken from the first album in the band’s history, Cardiosonic, which can be listened to in full here .
“Rai de Farisei” marks the end of the journey of the angel who faces prejudice from the people of the earth. Unhappy interactions with them give him a revelation that Alex Coțofon, the leader of the band, tells about.
“Rai de Farisei is a play about the search for one’s own path, a search for the self, a breaking of the stereotype, a victory against fear, an acceptance of inner defects and their metamorphosis into qualities. Probably the best song I’ve ever written, it touched me as soon as my voice lines came, since then I’ve known what the message will be about. It’s the kind of song that comes on its own, you don’t have to look for it, it finds you even when hope starts to hide. “Rai de Farisei” is about the power of being YOURSELF, an assumed and conscious “you”, a “you” not to be afraid of when you look in the mirror, “said Alex.

Cardiosonic is a roller coaster of the emotional body, from the fear of the unknown, to the clenching of teeth during the fall and the smile of the moment when we know that everything will be fine. Some pieces have a dramatic load (Bear, Wine, Quantum Physics), others are a portal to meditation and relaxation (Somebody, Rain), and some of them, a hand outstretched to joy (Pararam).

Alex & The Fat Penguins is an alternative rock band founded in 2016.
Their music speaks of the small and big revolutions that take place in the street or in our hearts. Alex’s inspiration has its source in a wide range of emotions and thoughts: it can be an intimate experience such as the loss of a loved one, a fragment of personal history such as the losses suffered by his family during the Soviet occupation, the positive prospect of spiritual rebirth or contemporary social problems that affect us all (injustice, corruption, war or the danger of destroying the environment). In 2017, during the protests for the laws of justice, Alex & The Fat Penguins sang live, in front of the Romanian Government building, the song Just A Fool, the anti-corruption song that enjoyed numerous appreciations from the public.
