I’ve seen Kasabian live at Summer Well Festival in 2015 and even though I knew many songs, I was really impressed by how good their live set was. Until this week, I had never thought that it could have been the last time I saw them live.

In case you’ve missed it, Tom Meighan left Kasabian by mutual agreement after 23 years of playing together. The decision was taken after he pleaded guilty to assaulting his ex-fiancée.
After this decision, we can say that a part of Kasabian died and it will never be the same. Even if we talk about “Fire”, “Club Foot” or “Underdog”, really popular songs because of their appearance in the soundtracks of many games, or of not being so mainstream songs, we know that the energy won’t be the same, nothing will be the same without Tom.
Conclusion? There is a possibility that Kasabian will continue considering the band’s fame and the fact that they were planning to release another album, but their fame will surely decrease.
A sad month for Kasabian, a sad month for British music, a sad month for Leicester, a sad month for indie music.
