On the 20th of July 2017, the whole music world stopped. Chester commited suicide on the birthday of his friend Chris Cornell, who killed himself just two months before.
But time decided that his legacy will go on…

After the tribute concert in memory of Chester, Mike Shinoda released “Post Traumatic” in 2018, which describes what he felt after the death of his friend.
In oposition to the other events that are going on this year, 2020 proved once again the greatness of Chester.
After Phoenix said in April that Linkin Park is working on new songs in the lockdown, Mike Shinoda revealed that there is one more unreleased song recorded with Chester for “One More Light” album, but he did not say more about it.
Grey Daze, Chester’s first band, also released “Amends” in 2020. The album contains songs recorded with Chester and mastered by his son, Jaime Bennington, who also recorded some of the vocals.
2 weeks ago, “In The End” reached 1 Billion views on YouTube, making Linkin Park the second rock/metal band with 2 or more songs with 1 Billion views. Linkin Park also has the most YouTube views for a rock/metal band, with 8.7 Billion views.
We don’t know what will happen with Linkin Park in the future, we don’t know how life would be now if Chester was still between us, but one thing is sure: everybody misses him!
Rest In Peace, Legend!
