Last year we’ve talked to one of the promising French bands, ONLAP.

This year, the band released another project called Youth Never Dies, which will feature covers of their favorite songs (and many more) in collaboration with some amazing bands or artists.

Their first cover from the project (SKILLET – Awake and Alive) was released on the 29th of May in collaboration with We Are The Empty and it already has more than 55k views on YouTube!

We tried to find out more about this project, so we’ve asked them a few questions.

Why have you started “Youth Never Dies”?

We started this project to be able to freely diversify our music, with more covers and feats. This way, it doesn’t interfere with the original ONLAP titles.

The first cover is a Skillet cover. Why have you chosen it to be the first song?

Skillet is one of our favorite bands. And We are the empty, a band we’ve known for a long time and love. So the first track was very well chosen, because Awake and Alive lends itself well to a piano/orchestral version.

Are there any more covers already recorded and ready to be released?

Yes, we have launched Youth Never Dies with the aim of releasing new songs on a regular basis, which will always be covers/feats.

Two other titles are already in the process of being finalized, one for September and one for December, next to the releases.

You have made a collaboration with We Are The Empty. When have you met them and why have you chosen them for this cover?

First of all, it’s a great band, and we love our friend inside We Are The Empty. It’s an indie band, just like us, and he fights every day to keep making music. And it’s been a longtime since we talked about making a featuring together.

Which bands would you like to collaborate with for future covers?

All ! Ahah. There are so many great other indie bands everywhere in the world. We will see, for the two incoming covers, it will be two french singers with a nice voice. For 2021, we should come back with US indie bands we like and talk with for a long time.

Are there any plans for an EP or album?

Actually we are currently on singles releases. But it’s not impossible, we will see if we like the idea for 2021 or 2022.

Yes : love you all, keep making the indie alternative rock music alive !!!
