White Walls, the progressive metal band from Constanta, will release its third album,”Grandeur” on 23 oct. The release concert will take place on the 24 of oct in Quantic club, Bucharest.

Founded in 2009, White Walls left their mark on the romanian metal scene with a unique style that often combines elememts of darkness with light, complex riffs, gloomy chords and a balanced mixture of restlessness and restraint. Their music was compared to the songs of popular bands from the progressive metal scene: Leprous, The ocean ,Opeth, Tool and Karnivool.
“Grandeur” opens a completely new spectre of musical paths and offers a more mature sound, seven years from the launch of their previous album,”Escape Artist”. Inspired from the state of the world, the title is not only a beautiful word since it reveals a few of the themes that stand at the core of the songs. Paying attention to all of the details, the band collaborated with Forester Savell (Karnivool, Make Them Suffer, Animals as Leaders) for mix and master. The artist Radu Damian made the illustrations, ensuring that they match the new songs.
About the making of the album, the guitarist says: “The creative process was a little bit different this time. The first two albums, “Mad Man Circus” and “Escape Artist”, were more or less composed in the rehearsal room, exploring live the ideas that were “brought from home”. “Grandeur” , on the other hand, was composed/recorded almost entirely before being sung live by all of us.This new mode of working enabled us to trully listen to the songs, to be able to create in the benefit of the unitary whole, of a more homogeneous and mature album compared to the other 2.”
Linked to the production of the album, drummer Theo says:”We are proud of what we accomplished so we made everything in our power and aimed high regarding the production. We are very grateful that Forrester Savell “touched” our songs and believe me, they sound like it.I can say that we aimed pretty high not only regarding the music, but also the clips, artwork, etc.”
