Slaughtersword is a thrash metal band from Piteå, Sweden, inspired by the old school’s German and American bands, such as Slayer, Kreator, Destruction and Hirax.

We tried to find out more about the band and its future plans in a short exclusive interview for our publication!

Why have you made the band and where does the name come from?

Our band namne Slaughtersword comes from the old school thrash bands, we wanted something with a punch and that hits you hard, like a punch in the nuts.
We all come from a small town in the northern part of sweden and the music scene is quite small, we wanted to expand the scene with great fast thrashing music and we all share a common interest in old school thrash and heavy music, so wa all came together to play that and it happend that we enjoyed playing together so we kept playing and started writing our own stuff.

Who are your rock stars idols / band idols?

We have a few different ones and a few incommon, we all like slayer, megadeth and bay area thrash but are more influenced with the german thrash scene like hirax and destruction.
Robin is also a big fan of NWOBHM with Iron Maiden as one of the main ones, but also other bands like prog and deathmetalbands like Opeth, LIK, Doyle and Death.
Wiktor is really into Sabaton.
Tobias likes a lot of different music and is also listning to alot of heavier stuff like deth and cannibal corpse.

What song that you’ve made do you think is the best and why?

It would probably be Thermonuclear Holocaust because of the raw energy and speed when we play it live with a chanting audience. Or sudden terror for it beeing our first song and a real crowd please of a song.

What inspires you to release new songs?

The will to be creative and touch people with new music But also for the thrill of playing live.

How would a dream concert be for you?

With all the shit going down now it would be one that actually happens. But we enjoy it when the crowd goes wild, the moshing and chanting. That goes both for watching a show and playing.
Its really great with shows in the middle sized arena or bar to have a cool experiance interacting with people.
And The scene is so close to all the action.

What plans have you got for the end of 2020? But for 2021?

By the end of 2020 we Hope to be on our way writing some new material and maybe to do a few more shows.
In 2021 if all goes According to plan we Hope to record a few more songs and singles and to play a few shows through out sweden to get more people interested in our music and shows.

What goals do you have for the next 5-10 years?

We Hope to go on a few tour Hopefully in europe at least and release some full length albums of our own.

Do you have any message for the people who are going to read this interview?

Keep thrashing and be on the lookout, big things are about to happen.
The slaughter will soon reach all of you, you cant hide!
