The quarantine was a really hard period for bands and artist. We talked to some bands from all over the world to see the real effects of the COVID-19 Pandemic in music.

Today, we talk to Random Ties, a high energy feel good Rock band.

  • How can you describe the changes generated by the pandemic in the band’s activity?

Hey everyone Youssef here, Random Ties a heavy hitting, feel-good rock band.

Our goal is to remain consistent & provide quality music to our audience & reach a wider fan base geographically so a big thanks to you for giving us a voice via your interview.

We’ve been very busy this year despite the pandemic, we released our  EP “Believe” in June with a couple of music videos on our Youtube channel, you can stream our EP  on Spotify as well this was the EP I put on hold for many years.

We had an East coast summer tour that ended last month at the Goose Lake festival 50th anniversary in Michigan.

We released our latest single “Thawra” a couple of weeks ago inspired by the deadly explosion that happened in Lebanon on August 4th that rocked the nation, leaving over 300,000 people displaced & thousands still missing or dead.

This humanitarian crisis really hit me hard, the blast is only second to the Hiroshima bomb, this prompted me to write “Thawra” & work with the uncredible Layal (@Ipr1ncess) who produced the video with the most authentic shots.  We hope this song will shed light & raise awareness of what’s going on down there.

All proceeds will go towards supporting the Lebanese Red Cross so if you do decide to contribute would be to purchase the single via our Bandcamp page & you can watch the video here.

  • What daily activity did you miss the most during quarantine?

Interacting with people without seeing the look of fear & cautiousness in everyone’s eyes

  • Were there any pluses for this period without concerts?

Lot of time to work on your craft as a musician & work on new material and spending more time interacting with our fans on our Instagram account.

  • How does it feel to return to some normalcy?

Quite frankly we are not there yet as venues & theatres struggle to re-open due to local or state legislations making it hard for bands to plan tour dates.

  • What plans have you got for the rest of 2020?

We will release a new video for our song “Why” on September 27th to raise awareness on mental health & suicide prevention and we’ve been in the Studio this month planning on coming out with a new EP by November followed by another video.

  • Do you have any message for the bands or artists who are still in lockdown/quarantine?

Hang in there long enough the sun will shine again

  • What message do you have for the people who are going to read this interview?

You have no idea how much your support means to us simple words of encouragement to buying our merchandise helps so next time you see a band let them know how much they mean to you.
