The quarantine was a really hard period for bands and artist. We talked to some bands from all over the world to see the real effects of the COVID-19 Pandemic in music.
Today, we talk to Ren Marabou, an amazing Dublin-based artist.

How can you describe the changes generated by the pandemic in your activity?
I unfortunately had to cancel an Irish and UK tour and a few shows in central Europe which we’re due to kick off in April 2020 but they are currently being rescheduled for 2021. I did however gain more time to spend in the studio and on online promotion so there’s a silver lining I guess.
What daily activity did you miss the most during quarantine?
I absolutely missed rehearsal with my band the most and getting ready to tour.
Were there any pluses for this period without concerts?
I’ve actually been quite lucky in the sense that my Label, PR and Management have all kept me very busy and productive during this time. I’ve had the chance to create alot of content and I’ve seen a significant growth in my fan base since March which has been great.
How does it feel to return to some normalcy?
It was nice to get a little bit of normality back to see my family and get rehearsing again but at the moment Ireland has gone into somewhat of a lockdown again where we are unable to leave our respective counties. With the limited movements most things have stopped again. Hopefully 2021 will bring on positive change for everyone.
Do you have any message for the bands or artists who are still in lockdown/quarantine?
Just keep the heads up and stay proactive. There’s still so much you can do for your careers at the moment so don’t lose faith and keep on keeping on.
What message do you have for the people who are going to read this interview?
Thanks for reading and thanks to all my amazing supporters, you rule! I have loads of new music on the way so keep an eye out on my Facebook, YouTube and Instagram. Keep safe and keep being awesome!
