Riot Monk, a Romanian rock band from Baia Mare are proud to announce that their latest album called “AER” will be released on 20 November 2020.
With so many musical influences, “AER” is one of the most diverse albums that I’ve ever heard.
The Album’s cover has a deeper meaning than I expected, since the collage behind the altar is a bundle of each of their emotions, all summed up to a visual masterpiece.

With this album, they combine short instrumental pieces of blues, country, powerful rock riffs and guitar doodles, along with energic hard rock bass lines and drum fills, summing up to a 12 song tracklist. Songs which are now released, such as “Conteaza”, “Be Palinca”, “Riot Day” and “Aer”, are intertwined with short instrumental masterpieces like “Mno Fain” and “Riot Day Redemption” which is truly one of the greatest ones. I have to admit that I was expecting more of “Mno Amu!” which really got my attention from the first couple of notes, although it’s only a 1-minute song.
I cannot pass easily by “Resuscito” which is the most atypical of them all. A 46 second musical piece, with the same word repeated all over by male voices, along with strummed guitar chords that got me thinking about a church choir.
It’s obvious that Riot Monk got a kick out of the new version of “Be Palinca”, with Mircea’s Russian rap, which believe me, it’s priceless. Not to mention that “Be Palinca” is an insane crowd pleaser on itself, but it will blow up the audience with this version, as soon as the live performances will be allowed
I was trying to decide to a favorite song but couldn’t. As the band themselves claims: “we really don’t have a favorite because each one of them has its own charm.”
