A Romanian young Metal Band launches a single with a tough warning message for the current society!
Four young high-school rockers from Bacău, Romania, sharing the same creeds and passion for rock, launch a protest-single on the music market. Named RAPAX (<.-lat.greedy, rapacious, insatiable), the young Romanian band launched Thursday, November 12, their first single and a video with a powerful story and an anti-system message.

Alexandra Hrincescu (16 years old), Vlad Prisacariu (18 years old) Tudor Păun (17 years old), Andrei Bostan (15 years old) are RAPAX, one of the newest but strongly build young rock bands on Romanian market. Connecting to music tradition marked by quite remarkable bands and two rock festivals in the 80s and 90s in their home city, the young high-school players followed their passion. They decided to revive the path of their old friends and make their own new message heard in the world.
They worked for their own compositions for months in row, and now they recently launched the first single, „Demise” and their first video, filmed under cautious conditions imposed by pandemic context.
It’s a protest-tune, about what the youth feel, that they do not belong in most of the community layers of living in our current disordered society. It’s about anxiety, fears and lack of (self)confidence. About the impossibility to find yourself adapted to the standards imposed by the society, enslaved by hypocrisy, shallowness and the ultimate power of money. Humanity loses its real values. A story of young people who carry the burden of this imposed luggage of false “reference system” delivered by all the others, which they will not tolerate. It’s the story of most young people who decided to “escape” and start building their own set of values.
The band members have been working in their message for over a year. “The music style of the band mixes prog, hardcore and Nu metal elements. Yet, the most prominent feature is the modern and aggressive line of the sounds,” says Sorin Antohi, musical producer of RAPAX and known bass player and vocals of the band Masked Toys from Bacău, Romania.
The video was created by the director Mihai Grecea, also a producer of the band, who also worked with the four young members in the studio to record and mix their 3 first tracks – planned to be uploaded on the first RAPAX E.P. next year.
“This whole project is a nice story. Actually, I have assisted this young band in becoming more professional, and it really has full potential. Some of the band members are the kids of my mates from my generation in my home city, Bacău. Namely, Andrei, the drummer of Rapax, inherits the passion from his dad, Cornel Bostan, my ex mate in the rock band we were playing with in the 90s. I answered RAPAX members’ invitation to support them, as they convinced me they truly engaging to make music and to work hardly. Good for them! The whole picture was like a school-internship for them in terms of studio recording. They were free to do whatever they wanted, artistically speaking, and we, the producers, showed them how to produce their music and helped them make many things on their own. A know-how transfer in fact. The entire work took us quite a lot of time, but our satisfaction is full, the efforts made it. Now we can talk about a ready-launched video and about another one in progress, plus two other tracks in the mixing stage. I hope this funny and determined gang bring a fresh new air in rock & metal in Romania, and why not abroad”, states Mihai Grecea, ex guitarist in Totem, a Romanian rock band in the ’90s, also a survivor of the fire tragedy that happened in Colectiv during a rock concert. After many years he is back in music business and playing.
The video launch was made online, due to the current pandemic situation in Romania and worldwide.
