The quarantine was a really hard period for bands and artist. We talked to some bands from all over the world to see the real effects of the COVID-19 Pandemic in music.

Today we talk to Chaoseum. Formed in 2018, Chaoseum emerged from the musical minds of four Swiss mates, hailing from different corners of Switzerland. They got together by passion and their huge influence of metal music, having performed together in symphonic/power-metal act Elferya.

How can you describe the changes generated by the pandemic in the band’s activity?

As expected, we were able to record our new album and release it in September. We had to cancel some gigs in France and Switzerland. Our European tour was postponed in fall 2021. We already worked on new songs and made some videos to publish something regularly.

What daily activity did you miss the most during quarantine?

In Switzerland we were able to go outside by reflecting certain recommendations. But that was sad to cancel our gigs this summer. We were able to play “only” 3 concerts in our country.

Were there any pluses for this period without concerts?

No, we only had to adapt our goal and stay an active band.

How does it feel to return to some normalcy?

It’s too early to talk about normality, some bands are already postponed one more time their 2021 tour to 2022. That will be really hard for everyone who works in the business.

What plans have you got for the rest of 2020?

We just recorded a live acoustic version of “Stick Under My Skin” and made some videos about the achievement of our next album.

Do you have any message for the bands or artists who are still in lockdown/quarantine?

I do not have the best solution during this period but try to create something new.

What message do you have for the people who are going to read this interview?

I hope your family and you are well. Don’t waste the ability to go to the concert when it will be possible. It is even more important at this time to support bands. This is the opportunity to buy t-shirts and CDs. Thank you to share a little time with me during this interview and keep on smiling.
