Rock Monsters Romania

In these peculiar times we live in, we already got used to most of our life being online. Even festivals take place this way now. We thank technology! For the first time, the band VAMA presents the first digital festival organized by a band from Romania, supported by the UNTOLD team (festival which is in the top 10 festivals around the world).

This festival will not only be a marathon of music, but also of education and storytelling. During the 2 days, the public will have the chance to listen to over 50 songs, gathering this way 7 hours of music from the repertoires of VAMA and Vama Veche. The public will also have the chance to participate in 5 instrument and vocal coaching workshops, held by the band members. Last but not least, those attending will have the opportunity to find out behind-the-scene stories through 4 sessions of debates with the whole band team, stories that are from the band’s personal experience.

The festival starts on Friday, November 27, at 11 AM (Romanian Time), and ends on Saturday night with a final act of the band VAMA. The full program can be found on the following website (http://www.vamafest.ro/), and the festival can be watched on the Facebook pages VAMA and Tudor Chirila.

One of the special moments from the music sessions will be the recital with fragments from the rock opera ”I will return man”, which will have Irina Rimes as a special guest. The opera is one of the few rock operas staged in Romania (along with Lucifer by Adrian Tabacaru), an original creation of the band Vama Veche from 2002.

Vama Veche was a romanian band, founded in September 1996, that offered the public numerous refrains, which even after more than 20 years are still hummed. It was a non-conformist band, which immediately reached the hearts of the listeners with the melancholic and bohemian spirit that the lyrics of the first songs had. After the breakup in 2006, the band’s vocalist, Tudor Chirila, founded the band VAMA.

VAMA is a pop-rock band that plays with many currents, wether it’s music-hall, indie rock, electro or blues. This variety comes from the diversity of influences and musical formation of the band members. An unique strength comes from the lyrics that are part of an original style, very easily recognizable. But perhaps the biggest trump of the band is the strength of the live show. VAMA feels best on stage, where Tudor Chirila manages to impress on the ”performance” his quaities and experience as an actor.

În această perioadă diferită pe care o trăim ne-am obișnuit deja ca mare parte din viața noastră să se desfășoare online. Pana și festivalurile au loc acum așa. Mulțumim tehnologiei! În premieră, trupa VAMA prezintă primul festival digital organizat de o trupă din Romania, susținut de echipa UNTOLD (festival care este în top 10 festivaluri din întreaga lume).

Acest festival nu va fi numai un maraton de muzică, ci și de educașie și storytelling. Pe parcursul celor 2 zile publicul va avea șansa să asculte peste cincizeci de cântece, adunând astfel 7 ore de muzică din repertoriul VAMA și Vama Veche. Totodată va avea șansa să participe la 5 ateliere de instrumente și vocal coaching, susținute de membrii trupei. Nu în ultimul rând, va avea ocazia să afle povești din spatele scenei prin 4 sesiuni de dezbateri cu întreaga echipă a trupei, povești desprinse din experiența profesională a trupei.

Festivalul începe vineri, 27 noiembrie la ora 11 (Ora României) și se încheie sâmbătă noapte cu un ultim act al trupei VAMA. Unul din momentele speciale din sesiunile de muzică va fi recitalul cu fragmente din opera rock “Am să mă întorc bărbat” care o va avea ca invitat special pe Irina Rimes. Opera este una dintre putinele opere rock puse în scena în Romania (alături de Lucifer de Adrian Tăbăcaru), o creație originala a trupei Vama Veche din 2002.

Vama Veche a fost o formație românească de muzică rock, fondată în septembrie 1996 care a oferit publicului numeroase refrene, pe care după mai bine de 20 de ani încă le fredonează. A fost o trupă non-conformista, ce a ajuns imediat la inimile ascultătorilor cu melancolia și spiritul boem pe care îl aveau versurile pieselor inițiale. După despărțirea din 2006 vocalistul trupei, Tudor Chirilă, a fondat trupa VAMA.

VAMA este o formație pop-rock care se joacă cu multe curente fie că e vorba de music-hall, indie rock, electro sau blues. Această varietate vine din diversitatea influențelor și formării muzicale a membrilor trupei. O forță aparte vine din versurile care se înscriu într-o stilistică originală, foarte ușor recognoscibilă. Poate însă cel mai mare atu al trupei este forța show-ului live. VAMA se simte cel mai bine pe scenă, unde Tudor Chirilă reușește să imprime „performance-ului” din calitățile și experiența de actor.
