The quarantine was a really hard period for bands and artist. We talked to some bands from all over the world to see the real effects of the COVID-19 Pandemic in music.
Today we talk to In Dying Eyes, an amazing melodic metal band from Mebane, NC.

How can you describe the changes generated by the pandemic in the band’s activity?
Before the pandemic we were much more show oriented. We had 7 songs written but we spent our available time practicing and performing. Once live shows were cancelled, we shifted our focus from performing to recording.
What daily activity did you miss the most during quarantine?
Definitely being able to go days without putting pants on!
Were there any pluses for this period without concerts?
One huge plus for us was being able to record our debut EP! Due to showing being cancelled we were able to put all of our energy into recording!
How does it feel to return to some normalcy?
It’s bitter sweet. While we are returning to a sense of normalcy, things are also very different than they were pre covid. And in alot of ways things probably will never go back to how they were before.
What plans have you got for the rest of 2020?
We are releasing our debut EP later this year! We are also planning to do an EP release stream! We are also hoping to have a livestreamed EP release show!
Do you have any message for the bands or artists who are still in lockdown/quarantine?
Write music! Music, for alot of people, is an escape from the real world! It allows!
What message do you have for the people who are going to read this interview?
Our debut EP will be coming out December 18th! Make sure to follow us on Instagram at @InDyingEyesBand for more updates!
Tell us more about the new track.
Pain has alot of meaning to us because it talks about the effects of a toxic relationship long after it has ended. The song illustrates the whirlwind of emotions one would feel after being in such a relationship for so long. The song was written at a dark place in Matt’s life and really allowed him to not only move on but let go of a toxic relationship! This song is dedicated to those stuck in a loop of trying to care for those who will not return the favor.
