The Moldavians from HARMASAR released a new single entitled “XIII”. The song is their first release in the last 4 years since they launched the album “Din Pamant”(”From the Ground”), an album with which they established their presence on the pagan and folk metal scene both in the Republic of Moldova and Romania.

Regarding the single “XIII”, HARMASAR stated that “[the single] will serve as a bridge between the first album and what follows.” By this statement can we understand that the band is working on a new EP that could see the light of day in 2021? We will see the evolution of the band in 2021 and receive an official response from HARMASAR as soon as possible.
HARMASAR vocalist Max Miller stated about ”XIII”:
“The song tells the story of the battles from Iezerul Cahul and Roscani carried by Ioan Voda cel Cumplit (Ioan Voda the Grim\Terrible) (June 10-14, 1574), the story of the last fight of Ioan Armeanul (Ioan the Armenian) with the Ottoman-Tartar forces. Without water, surrounded by Turks, without cannons, betrayed by the boyars, but not left by his soldiers and the Cossack horsemen called for money but left to die voluntarily.”
The single “XIII” was produced by HARMASAR and recorded by Dumitru Rusu, the sound engineer of the band Alternosfera, at ATHEIST STUDIO in Chisinau, Republic of Moldova. Adrian “Bila” (“Ball”) Uritescu, the sound engineer of the band Dirty Shirt, took care of the mix and master of the song at Lowbass5 Studio.
At the moment, the only Folk and Pagan Metal band from the Republic of Moldova, HARMASAR are an atypical appearance on the stage of this style, both at their home and Romania. Approaching a style with clear influences from black and death metal genres, outlined with agressive thrash metal riffs and peppered with the presence of folk wind instruments, HARMASAR instantly stands out in the sea of extreme local metal and even more.
HARMASAR were born in 2013 and have one album active, “Din Pamant”(“From the Ground”), released in 2016. With the release of the album, HARMASAR broke the borders of the Republic of Moldova, performing in both Romania and Bulgaria. In 2015, the boys won 1st place in the first edition of the POT Music contest. At home in Chisinau, HARMASAR constantly promotes the local scene, organizing for fans Prapad Fest (Disaster Fest) in collaboration with Iura Grom, a festival that has 3 active editions and where well-known bands, such as Rotting Christ, 1914, Bucovina or Riot Monk, performed.
