Doom metal is continuously evolving all over the world and Russia makes no exception.

Wishdoomdark have just released their latest album, “Return of the Dark Magic”, an album that can easily be considered one of the best Doom Metal album released this year.

We talked to Alex Ezeptrone about “Return of the Dark Magic” in an exclusive interview.

How hard was to release a new album this year considering the lockdown?

We didn’t face any big problems, we have our own recording Studio where we can endlessly come up with and implement our ideas and songs. There were no problems in terms of production

Where does the name of the album come from?

Returning to the dark origins and magic is a continuation of our big idea of black pagan gods, which will include 6 albums. This is quite an interesting story of our early gods, which many have abandoned and forgotten.

What is your favourite song from it and why?

Probably Grief, only because there were a lot of sad events and it reflects the spirit of the album, the spirit of the band.

What or who inspired the songs?

Inspiration comes from many sides, but if you take something specific, it will be the Slavic pagan culture, which is many thousands of years old, the great wars that respected nature, people and even their enemies. This is a great source of inspiration.

Are there any plans for a tour when it will be possible? If yes, which countries would you like to include on the list?

There will be a big tour, we can already say that we will visit Germany, the Czech Republic, Italy, Norway, Finland, Sweden, France, Holland, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, Poland.

You have released albums in 2019 and 2020. Should we expect a new album also in 2021?

According to the plan, another album will be released this year, the songs are ready for it and we are currently working on them. In 2021, we were going to do a massive tour of Europe, so I’m not sure there will be time to write an album. Everything will depend only on inspiration.

Do you have any message for your fans and metalheads who are going to read this interview?

We thank all our fans and listeners for the great support I have given us over the years. Metal is not just music-it’s our life.
