The quarantine was a really hard period for bands and artist. We talked to some bands from all over the world to see the real effects of the COVID-19 Pandemic in music.

Today we talk to Pressure,  a melodic rock band from Stockholm, Sweden!

How can you describe the changes generated by the pandemic in the band’s activity?

For us the biggest change is of cause that we cant have any live gigs. We are really focusing on recording our music. We are a pretty “young” band (not the members but as a group) so we actually have a lot to work with even though we cant do any live gigs.

What daily activity did you miss the most during quarantine?

Meeting people face to face, live gigs.

Were there any pluses for this period without concerts?

No… But you have to make the best of it and find things to do anyway. There is always something to do, you just have to look outside your normal comfort zone and see what you can improve.

How does it feel to return to some normalcy?

We thought we were heading that way, but it looks like we have to wait a little longer. Hopefully we will be back to almost normal again in June or July. If that happens I think you will miss that everything slowed down a little and you are not as stressed as you you used to be. In other words, right now I am a little bored but pretty relaxed;-)

What plans have you got for the rest of 2020 and for 2021?

He he, it almost finished, and the only thing which we have time for before 2021 is to release our Christmas single “Julstress”. A song about all the stress during Christmas time, and maybe it wouldent be so bad to celebrate Christmas calmly and alone.
But I can tell you a little about our goals 2020. It were to release some singles (check) get out and do some live gigs, (no check due to corona) and release our album. We didn’t release the album because all material is not ready yet. We got all the songs ready, but we need to work on the other things around the album release, so we don’t throw a good album away.

Do you have any message for the bands or artists who are still in lockdown/quarantine?

Its hard. Hang in there, if you have the technical solution for it do some livestream gigs. Talk to your fans via social media to let them know you are still there. Write some more music, and if possible record it.

What message do you have for the people who are going to read this interview?

Our music and message is actually about different kind of pressures (hence the bandname is pressure). The pressure can be good or bad it depends how the listener interpreted our songs. We also want our music to help people overcome everyday problems, and we want to start a discussion about topics that sometimes could be hard to talk about. Most of our songs can be interpreted in two different ways, with makes it good for interesting conversations and discussions.
What’s next?
We are about to release a few more singles in a Swedish version and in English version as well. After that we will release our Album. After our album release, we will probably release an EP where we have translated some of our songs to German. If things in the world change, we will definitely start playing live again.

As I mentioned before, we are a really young band, that has just started our journey. We are working hard as many others right now, and many before us have done. We do what we do with passion and hope you feel that when you listen to our music.
