The quarantine was a really hard period for bands and artist. We talked to some bands from all over the world to see the real effects of the COVID-19 Pandemic in music.
Today we talk to PROMISE, an explosive german metalcore quintet rising from the ashes of their past. PROMISE formed in late 2020 in Stuttgart by musicians looking to embrace new frontiers.

How can you describe the changes generated by the pandemic in the band’s activity?
A lot of things have become a bit more difficult, since we can no longer see each other together. We try to take advantage of the possibilities of digital networking as much as we can and usually meet in small groups of 2 or 3 persons to still move forward.
What daily activity did you miss the most during quarantine?
What we all really miss is the time together where we just have fun and forget all the stress of everyday life. It’s food for the soul and really hard to compensate with anything else.
Were there any pluses for this period without concerts?
We always try to see the positive in the current situation and take it with us, here you can already say that we have used more and better on the songwriting and all other activities such as preparation for video shoots. Maybe the whole situation is also a very good opportunity for newcomer.
How does it feel to hear the idea of returning to some normalcy?
For us indescribable we are a band that didn’t even exist before the pandemic, we have never been on stage together. The feedback from our fans is incredible, they give us so much support and courage to get through this time and have a great time together afterwards.
What plans have you got for 2021?
We focus on all aspects which we can control, such as writing new music and try to expand our popularity on social media. In the end it would be nice to be able to play our debut concert in 2021.
Do you have any message for the bands or artists who are still in lockdown/quarantine?
Seize the moment and the opportunities that currently arise and do not stop working on your success. Have courage, don’t lose faith, in the aftermath we will appreciate everything even more!
What message do you have for the people who are going to read this interview?
Also to you, don’t lose courage! If you’re reading this, you’re not alone, we can do this together and we’ll really have fun together when it’s over. Thanks to everyone who supports us and stay healthy!
