The quarantine was a really hard period for bands and artist. We talked to some bands from all over the world to see the real effects of the COVID-19 Pandemic in music.

Today we talk to Blackjack Love, a rock ‘n’ roll band from Woking, England!

How can you describe the changes generated by the pandemic in the band’s activity?

It’s killed everything off for us man. No gigs. No practice. We’ve been writing a bit but yea it’s not the best.

What daily activity did you miss the most during quarantine?

I wouldn’t say daily, but definitely just being able to pop to the boozer for a pint. Not having to book, queue, wear a mask etc. Just swinging in for a quick one.

Were there any pluses for this period without concerts?

We’ve definitely written more. Jammed stuff out & sent it to each other. We’re just focused on getting back out there in the new year playing shows.

How does it feel to return to some normalcy?

It was feeling good until we got locked down again. We can’t wait for it to get back to how it was, if in fact, it ever will? But you know, there are people a lot more worse off than us y’know, so it is what it is.

What plans have you got for the rest of 2020?

Drink loads of whisky, eat loads of food & generally reset for next year.

Do you have any message for the bands or artists who are still in lockdown/quarantine?

Yea, don’t let it get you down man. There’s always gonna be an end so just focus on what you’re gonna do when everybody is out of it.

What message do you have for the people who are going to read this interview?

Thanks for taking the time to read our moaning! Also check us out on YouTube / Facebook / Twitter etc, all major streaming platforms, & have a good New Year. Much love. BL xx
