On December 19, 2020, George Augustin, known by the pseudonym SAW, launches his first solo project. After 3 years of concerting with Bucharest hardcore band Berzerk, SAW aims to develop his ideas and transpose them into his own deathcore creation.

The EP entitled “Rotten World” condenses 4 songs with a strong message of revolt over the world and monotony, aiming to expose in an artistic way the artist’s thoughts on the world around him. The general idea in the songs reflects the negative parts of life. “There are beautiful parts if you know how to observe them, but the monotony forbids you to discover them” – admits SAW.

The project began to take shape in the early summer of 2020, with strong influences of hardcore, death metal and progressive metal from bands such as WhiteChapel, Enterprise Earth and Aversion Crown.

“The constraint of a rotten world” is the main song that summarizes and opens the EP, with a video directed and filmed by Matt Iudean, which aims to ridicule the monotony and the various masks that people wear, becoming all the same. The run from the end represents the flight from banality and everyday things, the aspiration towards a place where you can enjoy life.

The song “Midnight” has as vocalist FAWKS (Mircea), the vocalist of the band Berzerk, and “Falling Sky” has a more personal side, with an atypical beginning, an attempt to find his own way through faith.

SAW states that he wants at least a few people to be able to find themselves through his creation. “Art is something subjective. If you have positively influenced at least one person through your creation, it’s a success “says George Augustin – SAW.
