The quarantine was a really hard period for bands and artist. We talked to some bands from all over the world to see the real effects of the COVID-19 Pandemic in music.

Today we talk to SKAGS, a Greek Alternative Electronic Psychedelic Rock band.

How can you describe the changes generated by the pandemic in the band’s activity?

Our album was recorded during the Covid-19 pandemic which made all the procedure very hard for all of us, because we had to reschedule and postpone recording sessions, rearrange new dates for rehearsals and so on. The second lockdown came during the official release of the album. So as you can see, it was a bunch of misfortunes that we overcame and managed to release this album. Apart from that, our rehearsals have been left behind and in reality we can contact each other only digitally for now.

What daily activity did you miss the most during quarantine?

What we miss the most , is to feel free to walk without a mask and hug each other.

Were there any pluses for this period without concerts?

The only good thing ,at least for the band, is that we had the time to prepare new ideas and songs, and this way we have already composed material for 2 more albums. But we miss the concerts so much. We haven’t even presented our new album live.

How does it feel to return to some normalcy?

To tell you the truth we haven’t returned to normality yet and from what It seems we won’t return soon. Nevertheless, the anticipation we have for this return is huge and it keeps as positive.

What plans have you got for the rest of 2020 and for 2021?

The band has many plans for the future and only some of them are:
-A release party for our album
-A live videoclip
-A new photography session
-Recording and releasing our second full album

Do you have any message for the bands or artists who are still in lockdown/quarantine?

Well the only advice that we can give them at this point, is to stay positive and take advantage of the free time in order to practice and get better as musicians.

What message do you have for the people who are going to read this interview?

First of all thank you for reading this interview and we are looking forward to hearing your comments about our music.
