On 29th of January, Steegmoord released their debut EP with the same name.

Haven’t heart about the band yet? Steegmoord is an instrumental metal band hailing from Ertvelde, Belgium. Now that you have an idea of what they do let’s talk about their EP.

It begins with “Your Liberation”, an intro that sounds like the perfect live concert intro for every death metal band. But this 2 minutes song is just preparing you for what is going to come…

The other 5 songs from the EP are pure class, the transitions, the intros and the endings are just pure and perfect. I would even start watching more movies if these were the endings songs for them to be honest.

My favourite track is probably “Man Made Mountain”. The first 47 seconds are preparing you for the song, but the interlude is the best part in my opinion. At that point you don’t know what to expect from the rest of the song. Well, all I can say is that you can see the mountains through music, a feeling that is not easy to have, but wow, this image created by music is something truly wonderful.

I am looking forward to see the next steps of the band. For now I can only say that I’ve found a new favourite instrumental underground band and you should check them out, too!
