The quarantine was a really hard period for bands and artist. We talked to some bands from all over the world to see the real effects of the COVID-19 Pandemic in music.

Today we talk to Subliminal Landmines, an energetic punk band from Lafayette, Louisiana!

How can you describe the changes generated by the pandemic in the band’s activity?

All of the changes that we had to make because of the pandemic were all positive honestly. We got to make some new music and grow our online fan base which is always a plus.We made some huge strides in 2020 and because of that we are making even bigger strides in 2021 and we have so much we want to accomplish this year

What daily activity did you miss the most during quarantine?

What we missed the most during the quarantine was definitely being able to play live shows and interact with our fans.

Were there any pluses for this period without concerts?

Oh definitely. We wrote and recorded our first full-length album called ‘Gibberish’ and recorded a music video for one of the songs off of the album called “Where’s My Coke?”. We also wrote a christmas song and recorded a video for that as well called “Am I Really The Grinch?”. I think we all also became a lot closer being able to spend so much time together writing and just enjoying the process because it’s all that we really could do.

How does it feel to return to some normalcy?

It feels great. We finally booked a show for the first time in over a year and its going t5o be on March 5th at The Brickyard in Baton Rouge, Louisiana in the US. We all have the itch to play a show and are all super stoked for it.

What plans have you got for the rest of 2021?

For the rest of 2021 we plan to write some more music, play a live stream show for our online fanbase, and also hopefully book a tour at some point this year. New music can definitely be expected at some point throughout this year.

Do you have any message for the bands or artists who are still in lockdown/quarantine?

Optimize on the time that you have! Write music, create merch ideas, grow your fanbase, do anything you can to build up the momentum that way when everything is a go you already have a head start!

What message do you have for the people who are going to read this interview?

Check out our new album ‘Gibberish’ which you can find on Spotify, Itunes, Apple Music, YouTube, Bandcamp, and pretty much everywhere that you can find music. Follow us on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and anything you can find us on. We love our fans and thank everyone for the constant support!
