The quarantine was a really hard period for bands and artist. We talked to some bands from all over the world to see the real effects of the COVID-19 Pandemic in music.

Today we talk to RYDERS, an amazing classic rock band from Germany!

How can you describe the changes generated by the pandemic in the band’s activity?

During the pandemic the essential changes for us as a band are that there are no gigs and no personal contact to your fans – this leads us to use the digital way of communication even more.
Nowadays that no gigs, concerts and festivals are allowed to take place, we are creating a lot of new stuff, we are writing and composing new songs. We also do a lot of things that have been left behind.

What daily activity did you miss the most during quarantine?

We are missing live gigs as hell and of course our crew and the great time of recording new music vids.

Were there any pluses for this period without concerts?

You have much more time to prepare things for later, when the normalcy returns. You can work on your skills, because if you stagnate in your development (and this does not only mean the musical development), then you have given up. And that must never happen! There is so much to learn. And this is the best period for doing this in order to improve yourself.

How does it feel to hear the idea to return to some normalcy?

Fantastic feeling – we are waiting for it! This will be amazing to be on stage and feeling the vibe again. The audience is hungry – we also!

What plans have you got for 2021?

Our plans for 2021 are touring, songwriting for our next album and the recording of the songs. There will be also the filming of music videos. We are looking forward to it!

Do you have any message for the bands or artists who are still in lockdown/quarantine?

First of all: Don‘t give up! Use the time for preparation and improving your skills. Read a book with tips and advices for the music business, for example. There are always things you can do – despite the quarantine. Take the time to improve your skills – you‘ll be happy about having done so, when quarantine is over.

What message do you have for the people who are going to read this interview?

We appreciate your interest – check our music and take a look on our social media channels – there is always new content – even in lockdown. Life goes on – Corona crisis will be over some day! Hopefully we’ll see you at concerts! Stay healthy, guys!
