“We are Fuzzy Faces! We are trying to create new types of sounds and we are going to beat the crap out of our Speakers.” And that’s what they did with the song “Nuklearatomic Dope Bug”, released on January 13, 2021, one of the first tracks this year.

A song that takes you through so many moods, from relaxation to ecstasy, from curiosity to “explosive”! And yet, the song shows no verse, it’s a mess of instruments, combined in a precise order that succeeds: “I tried to create a surrounding like a nuclear bomb that concentrates everything in the moment of listening and gets in your head.”
In the last few days, Fuzzy Faces’ song was the first song I listened to in the morning, the amount of energy needed to start my day. This begins softly, with the sounds of drums and trombone, a perfect combination that prepares you for every instrument that will make its appearance. These tools become your “guide” for the next 3 minutes, with whom you will not break up too easily. After you’ve caught the rhythm of the song, the bass appears on stage, which represents the trampoline for the climax of the song, the guitar! Once all these instruments manage to combine, the guitar is the main point of your attention and manages to get you into a state of explosive energy, so that in the end they let you fall back into reality, just like a nuclear bomb.
As for the title, as you’ve noticed, it’s misspelled. Vicenzo Palaia, the man behind the instruments, says “On purpose, I write it wrong. […] The title makes no sense. I did what the instrumental was saying to me, and it was no sense. But if you really think about it, it makes sense; at least to me… it doesn’t need to have a sense for all the people”.
If you ever feel the need for an urge to continue your day, or if you just feel the need for an exhilarating instrument without lyrics, the “Nuklearatomic dope bug” is the energy bomb you need.
