The quarantine was a really hard period for bands and artist. We talked to some bands from all over the world to see the real effects of the COVID-19 Pandemic in music.

Today we talk to Ivy Gold, a Female-fronted contemporary blues rock band.

How can you describe the changes generated by the pandemic in the band’s activity?

Well, we actually postponed our debut album release a couple of months due to the pandemic. Now we released the album “Six Dusty Winds” on March 12 and again, we could not do a nice release concert. It is really too bad, but we make the best of it and we are positive to be able to put a nice tour together soon.

What daily activity did you miss the most during quarantine?

I really missed traveling a lot and of course going to concerts!! I miss live music so much…

Were there any pluses for this period without concerts?

No, I can’t think of anything right now… a life without concerts feels really empty.

How does it feel to hear the idea of returning to some normalcy?

Oh I think all of us are desperate to go back to normal. So let’s hope for the best and that our normal life will return very soon.

What plans have you got for 2021?

We are actually planning to put a tour together and of course we are getting back to writing new song material. There is always plenty of work: new songs, new videos and a lot of promo work will be worked on the whole year.

Do you have any message for the bands or artists who are still in lockdown/quarantine?

Try to stay as positive as you can!! Playing, practicing and doing what your heart guides you to do as much as possible.

What message do you have for the people who are going to read this interview?

I am hoping to reach out to the people & listeners of our music so I can touch their heart and soul when listening to our music. Music is the universal language and it builds bridges amongst people, cultures and all races – music spreads so much good energy and brings a strong message across – I would love the listener to sense that as well.

Thanks so much for this interview!! And of course for sharing and supporting Ivy Gold. we really appreciate it a lot – it means a lot to us!!

All the best to all of you!!
Manou & Ivy Gold
