The quarantine was a really hard period for bands and artist. We talked to some bands from all over the world to see the real effects of the COVID-19 Pandemic in music.

Today we talk to Christopher Taylor, a Yorkshire-based musician and song-writer!

How can you describe the changes generated by the pandemic in your activity?

Challenging to say the least. Although I’ve been able to concentrate on writing and was lucky enough to get some recording and a couple of gigs in in the last 12 months. But I really have missed the opportunity to play more and connect with fans more in the last year.

What daily activity did you miss the most during quarantine?

Not so much daily but definitely getting together with friends each week to play through the set and have a few beers.

Were there any pluses for this period without concerts?

Not really – I would have carried on writing with gigs in the diary, maybe not as much. Can’t say I can see any pluses at all!

How does it feel to hear the idea of returning to some normalcy?

Fabulous – it will be great to gig more regularly again and to share some of the new music I’ve been writing. Really looking forward to it.

What plans have you got for 2021?

More recording – I’m in the studio with The Animal Farm in July and more gigs starting to come through now too so a positive feeling.

Do you have any message for artists who are still in lockdown/quarantine?

Try and keep positive – I know that’s easy to say but there is some light now at the end of the tunnel and make sure that you’re ready to hit the road when things open up again.

What message do you have for the people who are going to read this interview?

I know there’s a lot of music out there – but please take a few minutes to check out my latest song ‘By My Side’ and let me know what you think. If it hits the right note check out my other stuff on your favourite platform. Enjoy and stay safe.
