The quarantine was a really hard period for bands and artist. We talked to some bands from all over the world to see the real effects of the COVID-19 Pandemic in music.

Today we talk to Keep This Up, a Pop Punk band based in Peterborough, UK.

How can you describe the changes generated by the pandemic in the band’s activity?

The changes have been crazy, it stopped us rehearsing but thankfully not writing. We in turn started using voice notes/video calls and maintained the band relationship and writing abilities. We didn’t let a pandemic stop us

What daily activity did you miss the most during quarantine?

I think we missed rehearsals the most, just being able to meet up, have a laugh and play music we have written and enjoy. That and the pub/live music events

Were there any pluses for this period without concerts?

It has given the band a lot of time to work on writing, focus our energy and plan for the future. We cannot wait for the return of concerts.

How does it feel to hear the idea of returning to some normalcy?

It’s a little bit scary considering everything that’s happened but it is thrilling to know we are heading back to some form of normal life again

What plans have you got for 2021?

So, we have an EP being released shortly and hopefully a lot of gigs

Do you have any message for the bands or artists who are still in lockdown/quarantine?

Don’t let a pandemic stop you, there are plenty of ways you can be productive without even needing to leave the house.

What message do you have for the people who are going to read this interview?

We are Keep This Up, please check us out on social media/streaming platforms. Come see us at a show and stay safe!
