REVIEW BY STEFANIA GHITA

From the very first guitar chords, you will feel in yourself a huge force that will give you energy all day! It’s about the cover of the song “Please don’t touch”, a heavy metal / hard rock song that manages to “plug you in” at any time.

The first time I listened to it I had a shock from the dynamics of the song; I loved it from the start! I couldn’t help myself, so I closed my eyes and nodded to the rhythm. But for the second time I raised the volume to the maximum and I sang the lyrics together with the lead singers Pedro Zupo ( Living Metal) and Fátima del Carmen (Natthammer). A song so exhilarating that even after it’s over, it still resounds in my head.

The song is a duet, and throughout it, the perspective changes from the masculine one to the feminine one, so that in the end to find a perfect harmony between the two. This duet is both a dialogue between the two protagonists and an account of the sexual tension between the two in a slightly comical form, as shown by the lyrics “I remember the first time, I took you to a cheap motel/ I woke up drunk, you know, I felt like Eskimo Nell.” which refer to the British comedy for adults “Eskimo Nell” (1975). Throughout the song, the tension is increasing, and all this is followed by the guitar solo of Living Metal founder Rafael Romaelli. Thus, the track ends as if in a perfect cycle, the way it began.

“Collaboration between the peruvian band Natthammer and the brazilian band Living Metal for a homage to Girlschool and Motorhead playing their version of this classic song from Johnny Kidd & the Pirates.” – Living Metal & Natthammer.

This cover is part of Living Metal’s international project. Because of the pandemic situation, they started amazing collaborations between them and other members of foreign bands. The tribute list is also present on their Instagram page and I invite you to listen to them all!
