The biggest rock festival in Galati, Danube Rock Sounds which took place in September this year, hosted some of the biggest Romanian rock bands. Artists like Cargo, Alternosfera, Subcarpati and Coma performed on the Danube shores.

The blues-rock singer Jurjak opened the festival, followed by Via Daca and the debut of TMM.
Teodora Negreanu is the lead singer of TMM, a young blasting voice accompanied by rock rhythms. At only 17 years old, Teodora juggles with music, entertains the entire audience and brings back classical rock sounds and themes into nowadays music. Approaching energic themes with “Piece of Land”, calmness and with “Please come home” and powerful chords and lyrics with “Unbroken”, the young singer is one step away from becoming one of Romania’s greatest voices.

After TMM, the well-known sound of Robin and the Backstabbers was heard, more powerful and aggressive than ever.
Cargo brought, for the first time, the band’s new formula to Danube Rock Sounds with the lead guitarist David Cristian, ending the first day of the festival in a way only they do it best.
The second day of the festival took off with Over and grandiosely ended with Lupii lui Calancea and Alternosfera.
It was my first time listening to Lupii lui Calancea live and I was astonished by the bassist’s stage presence, who entertained the public like no other, only to figure out in the end that he was Alex Calancea, the founding member. Incredible bass solos, wolf leathers, trumpet sounds and tons of energy wrapped in folk music, straight from our Moldavian brothers.
Alternosfera came up right after them, ending the second day of the festival with an incredible lightshow. I enjoyed all of it right from the first line, together with all the headbangers, singing our hearts out on well-known anthems like “Flori de Mai”, “Ploile Nu Vin” and “Închisoarea Alba”.
Danube Rock Sounds was really one of the greatest rock festivals that I attended this year so far and surely in my plans for next year.
