The quarantine was a really hard period for bands and artist. We talked to some bands from all over the world to see the real effects of the COVID-19 Pandemic in music.

Today we talk to Anders L. Rasmussen, the vocalist and guitarist of Ohmwork, a power trio from Tromso, Norway, emphasizing great performance, hard hitting drum grooves, thunderous bass, heavy and energetic guitars and vocal lines with great melodies and hooks.

How can you describe the changes generated by the pandemic in the band’s activity?

Zero gigs! Other than a new way of writing songs together. Helge (the bass player) and I try to write most of the tracks together. During the pandemic this has been difficult, but we have managed to exchanged ideas using mail and Facebook/Messenger.

What daily activity did you miss the most during quarantine?

Be around people without being afraid of catching the virus.

Were there any pluses for this period without concerts?

Probably not. Enough time to write new songs could be a plus. That said, time has never been an issue getting new songs on tape. I can’t see any pluses…

How does it feel to hear the idea of returning to some normalcy?

It’s great, but you don’t know what’s waiting around the next corner. Delta virus #1000 or something… But finger crossed the worst part is behind us.

What plans have you got for 2021?

We released our fifth album Pareidolia on 27 Aug. Hopefully do some gigs after.

Do you have any message for the bands or artists who are still in lockdown/quarantine?

Be patient and write songs. Health always comes first. Be with your family. Talk to each other.

What message do you have for the people who are going to read this interview?

Hope you all are doing well! We are excited to release new music we hope you’ll dig! Check out http://www.ohmworktromso.com for updates and other cool stuff.
