If you know anything about metal, it should be that you can find good bands anywhere in the world, and now we take a look at the Balkan Peninsula, more precisely, Bulgaria.
Based in the capital of Bulgaria, Sofia, Metalwings is a symphonic/gothic metal band, formed by the vocalist and viola player Stela Atanasova in 2010. Their music is a fine combination of classical music and metal with lots of Celtic influences.

The band dates back to 2010, but their first eye-catching project is the music video for the song “Crying of the Sun” from the beginning of 2015, attracting the eyes of millions of metalheads. They released their first EP, “Fallen Angel in the Hell”, in May 2016, followed by their first album, “For All Beyond”, in the spring of 2018. As a teaser for their second album, they released the single “Monster in the Mirror” at the end of 2020.

On June 11, 2021, Metalwings released their second album, “A Whole New Land”. Being the band’s second full-length album, “A Whole New Land” is what you get when you put heavy metal and classical music together. The vocals of Stela are combined with the sound of heavy guitars, powerful symphonics and touching lyrics. All this makes the album a journey worth listening to.
