What can you tell us about the band?

OLD BREW MOB is the name under which we united our principles, passion for music and desire to give life to introspective thoughts. We are a young band, at the beginning of the road, activated by seriousness and musical inspiration.

The band was founded by Mihnea Michetei, Gabriel Gălbău and Adrian Gălbău at the end of 2018. Later, Sebastian Djurj, the last member of the band, joined us. The band underwent multiple changes during these years of training, until reaching the current version. We are a band from Suceava and we shape amalgam-songs, composed of alternative musical styles such as grunge, heavy rock.

The first single, entitled ”Aldilà”, was released in April 2022, accompanied by a short film. The concept is based on the desire for fame, success and to reach the highest levels of society, but always followed by inner resentment and discouragement.

“Troublemaker” is the latest song released (May 2022). The direction, script and editing, both for the first single and for this one, were done by the artist Răzvan Lupașcu. The main idea is conceptualized with the help of deep verses, which present the man in a total superficiality. The collective entity judges the people around it, without being aware of its own flaws. Throughout the composition, it realizes that it is in a hopeless paradox and that its imperfections are deepening. The video, on the other hand, shows a different side of the song and perfectly masks this depth. A transient thought covered by the everyday develops.

We are preparing for the release of as many songs as possible, which will also enhance the creation of our first album.

What instrument are you playing and how did you start?

Sebastian: While I was doing classes online, I listened to the teacher on one headset, the band’s songs on the other, and I was also employed as a bartender. For the most part, the songs were composed between cocktails and grades of 4.

Mihnea: I learned to play guitar, keyboards, drums on my own from the age of seven. My teachers were Matthias Jabs, James Hetfield and Rudolf Schenker. Hence my percussive style of rhythmic approach found in our songs.

Adrian: The first instrument I approached was the guitar in 2005 and the following year I had to focus on drums because the band I worked in needed a drummer. I have remained with them to this day and those who have guided me have been Jonathan Moffett, Stewart Copeland, John Bonham.

Gabriel: I spent my childhood playing the mandolin, violin, dulcimer, double bass and dedicated my adolescence to the guitar. After the formation of a rock’n’roll band, which ended with the end of high school, I took a 33-year break from music. I resumed my activity by joining the band OBM. In my free time I modify and build P and PJ type bass guitars.
