Craving a shawarma from 2045? Gramofone delivers it along with a new single.

The band Gramofone returns with a new single and a video premiere in Romania: the first video filmed with a phone and made with Unreal Engine. The video of the most recent song,”Get It”, captures a futuristic landscape from 2045 dominated by many novelties (flying cars and skyscrapers everywhere), but also by the really important things that last beyond time: shawarma with everything.

In the Bucharest of 2045, the greatest Shawarmery is located in Ferentari. Shao and Rmaru, the founders of Distors Kebap, are waiting for their guests to taste an excellent shawarma that may or may not contain the special ingredient: Emotions.

The socialite star ZP, endorser of the Distors Kebap brand, is a loyal customer here and together with the two GRMFN bikers they let themselves be carried away by Shao’s spell into the world of music from the Bellea club, the ground zero of entertainment in 2045. Here, the four transform into Gramofone and hold an extraordinary concert, full of emotion (thanks to the generous dose of shawarma).

Through this video, Gramofone continues the series of innovations that it has experienced in the past: the first video in HDR (”Stay Alive”), the first video filmed and played back entirely in 360 degrees (”My Self”), and now the first video filmed entirely with an iPhone on green screen, assembled in Unreal Engine 4. The whole concept was made exclusively in-house, by the Gramofone team.

In the attic called GramoHOME, it was worked for about a year on video production, inspired from movies such as Blade Runner, 2001: A Space Odyssey, Requiem for a Dream, but also from the classic Bucharest Shawarmeries. 3D models were created from scratch with maximum attention to detail, the concept for the costumes is an original one, and for the Gramofone members the whole process meant a first experience with this way of working. The Gramofone story begins in the summer of 2013, first, with various musical experiments composed in an attic and gathered in the “Intervention” EP. Since then, the band has “played” with various musical styles, from alternative rock to funk, from conceptual songs to dance music.

At the moment, Gramofone is preparing a new album in a playful, upbeat style, with shades of funk and disco, a perfect soundtrack for an evening of dancing and entertainment.

Gramofone performed on stage at numerous events: they opened Bon Jovi’s show in 2019 and participated at the biggest festivals in Romania, including Electric Castle, East European Comic Con, Awake Festival, East European Music Conference or Afterhills. Gramofone means Paul Drăgușin (vocals/keyboards), Vlad Dumitrescu (vocals/guitar), Crist “Zepe” Nicoară (drums) and Radu Camburu (bass) and you can follow them here.
