Iris in the ‘back’, the sunset in the ‘front’, a long car ride and my dad singing like a happy child, that’s how I got to know this legendary band.

As you may know, they separated years ago and we ended up with two different bands, Iris – Nelu Dumitrescu and Iris – Cristi Minculescu & Valter & Boro.

On the evening of September 27, Berăria H was animated by the performance of Iris – Nelu Dumitrescu.

They have begun singing discreetly, but in force, surprising the public with the very first guitar chords of ‘Pasăre albastră’, one of their most loved songs.

The band has interpreted a few songs from their last album ‘Zodiac’, released in May 2022, and also some songs released with the old original band.

As minutes were passing by more guests came on the stage playing the guitar, rocking the drums and even vocalising. Not only Romanian songs were played, but also covers of well-known English songs, such as ‘You Shook Me All Night Long’.

The lead singer danced alongside the public and the show became completely alive. People were frenetically waving their hands in the air, feeling the music from the top of their heads to the tip of their toes.

Although I thought the evening would end with ‘Floare de Iris’, the band decided to play one last song called ‘Strada mea’.

On my way home I found myself still singing. I can say that Iris – Nelu Dumitrescu has exceeded my expectations, leaving me in an excellent mood. If you haven’t seen them live yet, I suggest you keep an eye on their future performances. Fun is guaranteed.
