Today we are going to a special city, Timisoara, one of Romania’s biggest cultural centers, where we found THE CASE, an alternative project that started 10 years ago.

In 2022, the band released three amazing singles in collaboration with the Italian producer Enrico Tiberi, the latest one being “After You“, a track that was born from deep personal experiences, but the rich lyrics prove themselves to be immediately accessible and effortlessly easy to connect with.

After such an amazing year, we talked to them and tried to find out how this year felt like and, of course, what plans they have for 2023.

I’ll start with some basic questions about the band for the ones who do not know a lot about you…  How did you meet?

As musicians often meet, in a dark and mossy basement.

How was the band founded?

We were 4 guys that wanted to make great music, and also a bass player.

Where does the band’s name come from?

From the world famous tv show “Roadies”.

Back to the present now. In 2022 you’ve already released three amazing singles, “Throne,” “Fever,” and “After You”, that were played on radio stations from all over Europe. Did you expect such an amazing support? How does it feel?

It is a very powerful feeling to have one’s work appreciated. Obviously, we want to hear our music played everywhere possible but it is a long way there. Since we had a bit of success with our latest singles it drove us back in the studio and we wrote new material. We have another 3 or 4 new songs almost ready and we are planning to record them soon.

2022 was also a year when live shows returned at full power. You’ve also got some shows, including one with the Ukrainian band SINOPTIK. Have you missed playing live shows in the recent years? If yes, what did you miss the most? Also, can you pick and tell us about your best moment from a 2022 show?

We definitely missed playing live shows during the pandemic and we love to see things returning to normal again. 2022 was a transition year for us and we managed to play a few shows although not as many as we would have loved to but a decent amount. Clearly, we expect the next year to be full both from the perspective of shows and of releases. We missed the festivals the most, I guess.

How did it feel like to share the stage with SINOPTIK considering the terrible scenario that the band and the other people of Ukraine are facing due to the Russian invasion? Do you also have a message for the Ukrainian bands and people?

It was a small stage in a crappy bar. When we arrived at the location we were kind of disappointed and we had a lot of technical problems. But when the guys from Sinoptik arrived it looked like they did not care about anything else but to get on that stage and play. We felt kind of stupid that we questioned the conditions when we saw their attitude. In the end we managed to sort it all out and it turned out to be a good show. So our message for the bands is: That’s the spirit guys! Keep it up!

On the 8th of November, you released your latest song “After You”. What inspired it and what expectations do you have for it?

“After You” is a song about lost love, a melancholic interpretation of a break up. We chose to end the chapter with this song because it goes perfectly with the vibes of October and November. About expectations … We hope that people will like it at least as much as our two other singles from this collaboration with Enrico.

What are your goals and plans for the rest of 2022? But for 2023?

This year we plan to finish and record our new songs, and for the next year we might as well come up with an album. We have not decided yet specifically but what we can say for sure is that more material will be coming up.

What objectives do you have for the next 5-10 years, individually and as a band?

The long-term objectives are expanding our audience abroad. We would love to play more shows abroad and we are working toward securing a booking agency that would enable us to do that.

What message do you have for the people who are going to read this interview and will discover the band through it? But for your fans?

Thank you very much for reading this and we would love to see you at one of our shows to thank you in person.
