On the 9th of December, I was heading to Control for the first time after the Hayes&Y concert in November, ready for another amazing evening.

Even though I discovered Rockabella in late 2019 and had them in my Spotify Wrapped playlist since then, it was actually the first time seeing them live. I am not lying when I say that I was really excited and nervous to see them when I entered Berlin Hall…

The first thing I saw when I entered was Rockabella’s pink signature sign “Arată-te”, which inevitably made my brain press play to the song with the same name that is still running through my head after more than 2 years since its release. The crowd was slowly but surely growing, and it was nice seeing a lot of familiar faces, and we are talking about photographers, journalists and artists.

Around half past eight, Leyah started the opening show along Muse Quartet, accompanied by Bogdan Moroşanu at drums. I listened to Leyah’s last released single, “Time”, on YouTube just a few hours before the concert, but I would have never expected it to be this powerful. For around 45 minutes, I felt like I was at a Nightwish concert. For me, it was probably the most pure and chilling concert I’ve been to this year, and I really hope that I will have the opportunity to see them again soon.

After a short break, Rockabella entered the stage accompanied by a huge cheer from the crowd, a sound that was on repeat at every song transition, making the show experience extraordinary.

The band marked the release of their latest album “[IN]VULNERABILI” with a special set that contained all the songs from the new album, but also songs from their previous album “Clarobscur”, one of my favourites Romanian albums ever I would say. In a sublime atmosphere, Teodora Moroșanu‘s voice echoed in the entire hall and gave everybody goosebumps.

“Năluca” and “Arată-te” were probably my favourite live interpretations as well as the most powerful and cheerful song from the setlist, “Invulnerabili”. When the band started “Steagul Alb”, I looked in every corner hoping to spot Doru Trascău ready to hop on the stage, but it did not happen. Nonetheless, Teodora’s voice also completed perfectly his part for a special moment.

Talking about special moments… it was amazing to see that the public loved the band’s performance so much that they asked for a bis twice, for which the band played unreleased songs. Also, the end made me giggle a little bit when I saw Alina and Bogdan having a small battle for the ending chords. Absolutely loved the moment and their vibes.

All in all, it was an extraordinary experience and an imense pleasure. After nearly 2 weeks, I still can’t get that night off my head and for sure it was one of the most special concerts I’ve been to in 2022. So, if you can go to one of their future concerts, don’t hesitate as I don’t think there is a person on earth that wouldn’t like them.

And don’t forget: we are all invulnerable, and it’s perfectly fine to show what you think and feel… Rock on!
