Musician, producer, and songwriter Alira Mun unveils what seems to be her most personal record yet, and teams up with artist Maria Blaga to create a beautiful and brave music video for ‘Vis Lucid.’

Over the past years, Alira Mun has become an emerging star in her adopted hometown of Timisoara. Her music is now renowned for its gloomy, dark peaks, mainly comprising heavy techno beats, atmospheric backing synths, and impressive vocal performance.
Following the release of ‘Eclipsa,’ an electrifying and captivating rendition that leans on the industrial side of electronica, Alira now delivers a new track called ‘Vis Lucid‘ (eng. Lucid Dream). While her recent piece is uplifting and energizing, it tends to have a slightly sinister undertone in a dark electronic music style, using a bit of ambiance in the background to craft an addictive environment. She reckons that the track “started from a recurring dream from my childhood. It was a dream in which I was falling endlessly, from a cliff, into the void, without ever touching the ground“.
Perpetually clad in shiny or dark clothes, Alira Mun is a preternaturally talented party starter, an intuitive, rave-focused DJ with excellent wide-reaching taste. This approach to electronic music places the Romanian artist in a growing milieu of young producers looking to explore the world through EDM.
‘Vis Lucid‘ is more abstract, fractured, complex, and unpredictable than the artist ever did before, unleashing her vocals while digging deeper with brooding electronics. Alira’s ability to bring us into her feelings and have us wonder with her makes the music extremely interesting, while her energetic synths and powerful voice unite to give us the ultimate EDM anthem.
The black and white video is pulsing feelings. You will immediately feel the heart-wrenching pain she has been going through during every pounding second of the song. Straying just outside what you know of electronic or techno music, Alira Mun creates a sound that is all her own: a little dark, deeply honest, raw, and relatable in its realness.
About her collaboration with Maria Blaga, Alira says, “My first contact with Maria’s art was on Instagram. I admired her vulnerability, sensibility, and attention to unassuming details. One year later, I had the chance to meet her, and then I was sure we were compatible and resonated on many artistic planes.
On our first meeting, I invited her to collaborate on the Eclipsa video, and the result was delightful. We became close friends and decided to continue our collaboration because we worked so well together. We produced a second video and planned to do more.“
