Hand-animated desert psychedelia and sorrowful hearts: Another song, “Witch of the Dice,” has been released from Woodstock Barbie’s upcoming album, along with its official music video.

“And behold, another critique, showing the dangers of spending too much time in the digital world and the horrors of forgetting what real, fresh nature is like. This song has become my new favorite, a beautiful piece with Far Eastern influences,” says Sandra, the lead singer of the band.

“The Witch of the Dice” was one of the first to be written for the new album, but its title didn’t come right away. However, when it did, the band felt so strong about it that they built the entire EP around it and even the entire artwork. The album cover, the vinyl look that can now be pre-ordered, and the video released today were all created by Dóri Oláh, who was first introduced to her work at the Mill Festival last summer.

“The visuals primarily shake up a classic psychedelic line that fits into the band’s image, using a strong symbol system based on the lyrics of the title track. The graphic solution with its raster points evokes an earlier era, the animation is a traditional frame-by-frame solution, and the album itself also contains manually animatable finesse. It was a particular pleasure to work with a band where the most efficient tone was present from the very first moment, and the work could be a truly enjoyable creative process. ” – Oláh Dóri said about the work. The full material can be viewed on her portfolio.

The animation will also be projected at the album presentation concert on March 23 at the Instant, where they will perform together with the Austrian band Mother’s Cake. They will perform in Kecskemét, Pécs and Fehérvár in the spring, so check out their upcoming events!
