One of the newest and, at the same time, most interesting synthpop projects in Romania, Berlin Division, has released a new production, “Live at Home.” A live set that exudes a very catchy vibe and, alongside the genre’s characteristic melodiousness, also involves a lot of emotion. A sonic exploration in two acts, as we are talking about two tracks that perfectly outline the compositional direction of the Timisoara-based project.

Emerging in 2023 in Timisoara, Romania, Berlin Division is an electronic music project that blends vintage elements of synthpop and darkwave with modern techno rhythms.

Comprising Cristian Paroș (synths, electronics, and vocals) and Alfred Paroș (live sessions), the band Berlin Division proposes music with a wide range of inspiration that seeks to envelop the sensitive and slightly melancholic message in rhythmic and melodic nuances. A sonic blend that transports the audience into a soundscape with a unique energy, a kind of timeless passage that transforms the senses. It does not distort them but complements them, like that conclusion of a thought that is never fully realized.

The vocal part, though less common in today’s electronic music, is perfectly integrated into the atmosphere proposed by the instrumental, managing to produce a remarkable impact from the first notes, thanks to its very catchy tone and melodic lyricism.

The insertions of space ambient provide the compositions with a special dimension, placed somewhere outside terrestrial space, amplifying the feeling of journey through sound. The music takes you through creative universes reminiscent of Jean Michel Jarre, Erasure, Eurythmics, New Order, Mouse on Mars, and Booka Shade.

In the short period of activity, Berlin Division has been quite present in the niche music scene, gathering some notable live appearances, including Radio Guerrilla and the launmomentdat festival.

Currently, Berlin Division is working on their first record, planning to release new tracks that will most likely be part of this material.
