byron will release their eighth studio album titled “Efemeride” this autumn. The album will be supported by a national tour and will be available both digitally on all streaming platforms and physically in CD and vinyl formats.

“Efemeride” is a collection of conversations we don’t have, a direct gaze into the eyes of the person in the mirror. Throughout the ten tracks, byron takes you on a journey through the complex universe of recurring thoughts and emotions, anxieties, and existential questions, all subtly intertwined with threads of hope and distortion.

Dan Byron, the lead vocalist of the band, stated: ““Efemeride” is an album conceived over the course of about two years. It encompasses the states and thoughts he had during this time, the anxieties, fears, and philosophies that haunted him, the thousands of steps taken within the same walls. Then followed a long series of processes, alongside the other members of byron: sorting, arranging, rehearsing extensively, sometimes going in circles or rejoicing at a spark barely lit at the end of a dark tunnel. They forgot, they remembered, they modified, and they managed to surpass all the deadlines in the universe. Three and a half years have passed since the first word was written on paper, but now, finally, it is ready. And although he knows it cannot compare to a parent’s feeling towards their child, he can only say this: ours is more beautiful!

The new byron album is composed in Romanian and features Dan Byron on vocals, guitar, and flute, Dan Georgescu on guitar, Sergiu “6” Mitrofan on piano and keyboards, László Demeter on bass, and Andrei Ilie on drums. The album is recorded and mixed at the Unda Recording studio in Bucharest by Dan Georgescu and mastered by Cristian Varga at MASTERvargas.

About byron

byron plays rock music with diverse influences and was formed in 2006. They have released seven studio albums and three live DVDs since then. They are accustomed to performing on large festival stages in front of thousands of spectators as well as playing unplugged, wireless concerts for a handful of people. They have filmed a concert in Salina Turda (100 meters underground) as an irresistible challenge and composed the soundtrack for an original HBO Romania series. Occasionally, they perform 100% improvised concerts (Impromptu series) and, in December 2014, they filmed the “Electric Marching Band” concert at the National Theatre in Cluj, accompanied by a military brass band and a choir of students, whose DVD release was supported by a short cinema tour. This was followed by the album “Eternal Return,” recorded in High Resolution in Dublin at the famous Windmill Lane studios and mastered in London at Abbey Road.

At the end of 2019, byron released the album “nouă,” entirely composed in Romanian. “nouă” is an album about us, about Romania, dedicated to us. A musical carousel with 12 songs about immigrants but also about those of us who stayed home. An album about the collective unconscious, about silences, and our daily tightrope walking.
