In 2024, with its twelfth edition, Rock la Mureș, one of Romania’s most beloved open-air festivals, enters a new era.

With a restructured concept on many levels, Rock la Mureș offers a not-to-be-missed personal-level experience. The event takes place over two days, specifically on Friday, July 12th, and Saturday, July 13th.

The first early bird tickets have already been put on sale and can be purchased at a promotional price on the website of our partners at iaBilet.ro.

The visual concept, a unique artwork of which we are very proud, is created by Alexandru Daș and is a metaphor that harks back to the primordial times when human nature and the surrounding environment were representations of the same universe, and freedom was the only form of being.

The central element behind the graphic concept for the twelfth edition of the Rock la Mureș festival revolves around Tethys, the mother of all rivers, surrounded by representations of the flora and fauna specific to the Periam Port area.

The background is depicted by an old Austro-Hungarian map describing the course of the Mureș River, from the Arad area to Periam Port.

With a lineup being meticulously curated, the music will completely complement this landscape in which humans return to nature carried on the wings of sincere freedom. In this regard, the first names announced for next year’s edition are: Doctor Krapula, Dropout Kings, Avoid Humanity, and June Turns Black.

Formed in 1998 in Bogota, Colombia, the band Doctor Krapula is one of the most well-known ska-punk names in Latin America. With a sound that combines less conventional elements for the punk genre, such as merengue or salsa, the Colombian group has maintained the essence of this genre in their lyrical themes. With a powerful socio-political message, Doctor Krapula quickly rose to the top of audience preferences.

This ascent was crowned with a series of significant music awards, winning the prestigious Shock Music Awards 17 times and the Our Earth Awards 4 times. They were also nominated for the Latin Grammy 5 times and once for the Latin MTV Awards. In 2012, Doctor Krapula laid the foundation for the largest festival in Bogota at the time, the Viva El Planeta Festival.

Over their 25 years of activity, they have released more than 11 studio albums, with “Viva El Planeta,” released in 2013, even earning them a Gold Disc in Colombia for the best-selling album.

Formed in 2016 in Phoenix, Arizona, United States, the Dropout Kings are considered one of the most exciting newcomers in the metal scene from across the ocean. With a modern sound that combines authentic hip-hop lyrics with explosive djent riffs and metal vocal parts, Dropout Kings have created an unmistakable style, becoming a representative name for the trap metal subgenre.

Their live performances are true explosions of energy in which the weight of direct American rap lyrics blends with nervy metal elements in an unparalleled display of strength. With over 30 million streams on the famous Spotify platform and numerous appearances on the world’s largest stages, Dropout Kings are currently one of the most successful nu-metal bands.

Founded in 2017 in Bucharest, Avoid Humanity features former members of the bands Deadeye Dick and Spinecrusher, and their style is a finely crafted combination of death metal and hardcore. In other words, if their music genre were to become a serious job in Romania, these guys would undoubtedly be the craftsmen you’d look for to change your deathcore around the house.

June Turns Black is one of the most spectacular new additions to the Romanian metalcore scene, with a style they define as electronicore/screamo-djent. The Bucharest-based band managed to grab attention from their very first releases.

With a sound that weaves heavy riffs with melodic instrumental passages in a dynamic and complete manner, their music flows into your ears like a sonic river, unleashing its waves only within. The sound embraces the soul in a joyous, resonant way, like yin and yang meeting for the first time.

Periam Port, the place where nature welcomes her children home, becomes once again in 2024 the realm where joy and freedom will dance together within your being in an embrace you won’t want to forget.
