On October 8th, starting at 8:00 PM, Ioan Popovici, one of the most prolific artists from Timișoara’s alternative music scene in recent times, returns to the stage in front of the audience in the city on the Bega River with a concert filled with positive vibes, in a stylistic note and approach that is already well-known.

The concert will take place at the Anturaj club, a venue that exudes a very cool atmosphere, inviting you to relax, and in tandem with live music, manages to create a special ambiance.

This event is part of the “Timișoara 2023. Celebrating the City” series of events organized by the Timișoara Projects Center with a significant contribution from the Muzicon hub.

Ioan Popovici is a composer and instrumentalist from Timișoara who, throughout his career, has been part of several local alternative rock projects such as Effect, Flare, and later Flarehead. At this moment, Ioan has founded a new band in which the main elements are the vibe, energy, and personal inspiration.

With a stylistic approach that falls somewhere between pop-rock/ska with clear influences from across the ocean and an alternative rock somewhat typical for our lands, Ioan Popovici, especially through his lyrical approach, aims to spread a positive message with a new energy in the local music scene.

His most recent singles in this format, “Voyager,” “Element Star,” and “Dragon,” effortlessly guide the audience towards the musical influences mentioned above. With this somewhat daring approach in our alternative rock landscape, Ioan Popovici suggests a change in perception of the audience, their tastes, and feelings.

Live performances are a reflection of the artist’s spirit, managing to create a kind of energy that almost hypnotically draws the audience into a dance of genuine joy.
