Mark it on your calendar: Blind Guardian will take the stage at the Celtic Transilvania Festival on July 19!
With a consistent evolution from their early days as a speed metal band to their current and fantastic musical alchemy dedicated to glory, drama, and grandeur, BLIND GUARDIAN has long left their definitive mark on melodic/progressive rock, consecrating and refining the power metal genre to the fullest.

Founded in Krefeld, Germany in 1984 by vocalist Hansi Kürsch and guitarist André Olbrich, the band has always experienced an upward trajectory.
They released their debut album, “Battalions of Fear” in 1988, which reached #53 on the German Albums chart.
They followed with several albums that charted, including “Follow the Blind” in 1989 (#51), “Tales from the Twilight World” in 1990 (#43), and “Imaginations from the Other Side” in 1995 (#21).
“In 2002, “A Night at the Opera” entered charts in several countries and sold over 400,000 copies, becoming their most successful album up to that point.
Their 2010 album, “At the Edge of Time,” was the first to chart in the USA, reaching #11 on the Billboard Hard Rock Albums chart. “Memories of a Time to Come” (2012) reached #6 on the German Albums chart, while “A Traveler’s Guide to Space and Time” (2013) reached #8.
The group’s hit streak continued with “Beyond the Red Mirror” in 2015 (#4) and “Live Beyond the Spheres” in 2017 (#9).
In 2019, Blind Guardian released “Twilight Orchestra: Legacy of the Dark Lands,” which reached #7.
Their 12th studio album, “The God Machine,” was released in 2022. Blind Guardian has also released several live albums and compilations.
Thus, the band boasts an impressive track record and a catalog of classic songs, a treasure that only a few bands can boast.
Nicknamed the bards of heavy metal or modern minstrels, BLIND GUARDIAN has the ability to transport their legions of fans to new worlds with their majestic compositions, fantastic-themed lyrics, and meticulous, emotionally charged music.
