On March 8th, Missed Call released their first single, “KEEP IT SECRET,” from their upcoming album. This release marks the start of a new sonic era for the band, transitioning from an electronically-infused sound to an organic and upbeat style.
About the song
“KEEP IT SECRET” can be perceived as a tragicomic story, as its real significance stems from the aftermath of a teenage romance fraught with trauma, insecurity, and anxiety. The irony of the tale lies in the fact that the healing process culminated in an unlikely location: a gentlemen’s club. Rather than ending as anticipated, the night acted as the catalyst for the song’s creation.
About the band
Missed Call is a band comprised of four members: Radu Săndulescu as the main vocalist and rhythm guitarist, Răzvan Nica as the lead guitarist, Cosmin Gafițescu as the drummer, and Tudor Șanta as the bass guitarist.
Based in Iaşi, the band initially explored a fusion of multiple music genres, ranging from EDM to pop, soul, and rock. Two years after their debut, they coined their music as “fockop” – a fusion of funk, rock, and pop, characterized by a slightly melancholic yet nostalgic tone. In simpler terms, if “American Pie” were a musical, Missed Call would provide the perfect soundtrack.
