On April 4th, the charming members of the band Nuanțe brought the concert area of The Pub Universității to life, casting a magical spell on the young audience.

Arriving at The Pub, I noticed a crowd of excited teenagers waiting to fill the space in front of the stage that was left empty especially for them. As the concert started, there was almost nobody left sitting at their tables. I was surprised to see that this band has a tradition, just like many other bands. I always think I have seen it all, but with every new band I meet, I am left with the sweet taste given by the sense of community. The audience was split in two, some of them were sitting on the floor and the others were dancing in front of the stage.

Speaking of him, besides his stunning vocal skills, Edi Bolbea was a gigolo. Like a man pulled right from fairy tales, he was wearing a green shirt and a red transvaal daisy in his pocket, both contrasting his long dark hair. Edi has a very confident attitude, with a hint of an acting special talent. He exemplified some of the lyrics using beautiful theatrical gestures, but he also stood out by flirting. Towards the end of the concert, he offered the red flower to the girl standing right in front of him, and one song later, his guitar pick, to another girl next to her (the stage at The Pub does help a lot since it is not very high). At one point, as I was trying to catch his facial expressions on camera, he casually winked at me and I must admit, it is a pity I didn’t manage to capture that exact millisecond moment.

We all know the kind of artist that has the most unique ways to do nonverbal communication. Well, Andu Stoia is maybe the best example for this. He became distinct because he used his facial gestures and body language to fill up the stage a lot. I can say that sometimes Andu and Edi were sharing the spotlight, in my opinion, or I should rather say they were both making quite a show, separately and also together. Nevertheless, he was basically also a prince on a white horse (or rather a white guitar).

The dedicated drummer of the band Nuanțe, Gabriel Arsene, played essential parts of the songs and was able to make himself seen, even though he was in the back of the small stage. Still, he did have a few special moments with their photographer – you can find the results of those on instagram. This guy was actually a guest: Vladimir Gheorghiu is the vocalist of the band Something Stellar and a great event/concert photographer, and he was invited to accompany the band Nuanțe. Their friendship could be seen thanks to their little playful dialogue about Vladimir’s hat that apparently is the hat he accidentally always brings with him at The Pub. During the few songs he hopped on, he did an amazing growling that intensified the flavour of the songs.

Everything they did: the way they communicated, the details, the little tricks, they all helped add to the vibe of this concert and brought the members of the band closer to their fans. For example, a fine touch of theirs is the occasional eye contact with the people in the audience. Also, despite a small inconvenience the guitarist had, they were still amazing. They treated the problem sincerely, excusing themselves and thanking the tech support people at The Pub Universității.

The guys were extremely expressive, transmitting plenty of emotion, almost like the show would have been an immaculate one as a silent movie too. Their passion for what they are doing was clearly visible. What’s for sure is that this colourful band from Pitești is impressive. Nuanțe band has a specific style and truly unique lyrics, which can be confirmed by some of their most iconic songs, like „Îmi pare rău,”, „M-ai prins,” „Roi de fluturi,” „Cu mâinile goale,” „Două minute,” „Deja o cunosc” and many others.

If you have the opportunity to see them live, don’t hesitate! Check them out on social media and find out where their next concert is.
