MMB Showcase Festival, the festival associated with the international conference Mastering the Music Business (MMB), which features up-and-coming artists from Romania and around the world, will take place from September 3-5 at Club Expirat. Artists from Romania, France, Poland, and Spain are among the first confirmed.

For three days, from September 3-5, Club Expirat from Bucharest will host a new edition of the MMB Showcase Festival. The event brings to the club’s stage rising bands from around the world, covering artists from all musical genres, from industrial, dream pop, and jazz fusion to trip-hop, indie, and punk rock. They will perform in front of both local and European industry professionals attending the Mastering the Music Business conference – an opportunity that could lead to future collaborations – as well as in front of the public who do not attend the conference but are eager to discover fresh voices and sounds.
Cosmin Ionescu, Music Program Director at MMB Showcase, stated: “As every year, we are delighted to bring an impressive selection of artists from all over Europe to the Bucharest audience and MMB conference participants. We aim for the MMB Showcase Festival to be a place where you come eager to discover new music, curated professionally, and this year’s selection is incredibly varied both geographically and stylistically. We have Estonian alt/hip-hop, downtempo from Armenia, French alt/pop, Lithuanian surf/punk, indie/dream pop from the Balearic Islands, Romanian stoner rock, and many other fantastic-sounding combinations. If you want to discover what’s new in Romanian and international music live, our festival is the best starting point.”
Among the first names confirmed for the MMB Showcase Festival are: Alanaire (Spain), Alone at Parties (Romania), Immortal Onion (Poland), Michelle & Les Garçons (France), WOOMB (Bulgaria), Roadkillsoda (Romania), VEiiLA (Armenia), Kadjavsi (Romania), shishi (Lithuania), GØK2 (Estonia).

The success stories of the MMB Showcase Festival range from collaborations between Romanian and foreign artists, whose foundations were laid during the festival (Dan Byron and the Serbians from Ana and the Changes released a joint single), to international bands booked at festivals in Romania (Theodore from Greece, Ana and the Changes from Serbia, and Piqued Jacks from Italy) and even Romanian artists and bands (such as Mihail, byron, Lucia, Zimbru) invited to festivals in Serbia (Exit), the Netherlands (Eurosonic), Sweden (Live at Heart and Future Echoes), Hungary (BUSH), Slovenia (MENT), or Bulgaria (Spike).
Entry to the MMB Showcase Festival is free, subject to availability. Additional details about the artists and schedule can be found on the official website.
