Guantanamo’s new single, “IUBEȘTE-MĂ, URĂȘTE-MĂ,” focuses on the desperation and dependence that love can bring to a person towards their beloved, and how, in certain cases, this desperation can be used against them. It becomes a tool for blackmail, used to fulfill physical and emotional needs while masking immaturity, lack of responsibility, and emotional unavailability. The song, along with its music video, will be released in August 2024 on all streaming platforms.

This is the 8th single released by GUANTANAMO, and their next plan is to prepare their first album, which they intend to release by the end of the year. “IUBEȘTE-MĂ, URĂȘTE-MĂ” promises to be an unprecedented production from GUANTANAMO, marking one of their most ambitious projects to date, both in audio and video. With the help of their team, the band has exceeded their own expectations and eagerly anticipates the release of the song.

GUANTANAMO will kick off “GUANTALIADA” at HeavyYard in Bucharest on August 14, followed by performances on August 16 at the LaRock Festival in Florești, Prahova, on August 23 at the Verde la Teatru Festival in Focșani, on August 24 at Trei Bețivi in Bucharest, and concluding on September 12 at Echoes Haus in Bucharest. During these performances, the band will play all their songs, as well as cover versions in their unique style, preparing a set of approximately one hour.

What is GUANTALIADA?

GUANTALIADA or the GUANTANAMO OLYMPICS is the band’s first national tour. After a year away from the stage, the four members are returning stronger than ever, planning an explosive show, a fiery hour, and a spritz capable of extinguishing any spark.

The first “trial” of this Olympics will take place on August 14 at HeavyYard in Bucharest, where the band promises GUANTASPRIȚUL, the spritz that brought the band together and gave birth to the songs they will perform live, along with a few covers. For now, the tour is scheduled to run until September 12, but it’s uncertain if it will end there.

GUANTANAMO consists of:

  • Wael Morad – vocals and mischief
  • Blaga Orlando – guitar and spritz enthusiast
  • Ioan Șerban – bass and lover of hatred
  • Ifrim Cătălin – drums and wine supplier

GUANTANAMO is a pop-rock band formed in November 2022 in Bucharest by four young men after a spritz and some laughs. Initially, the project was strictly for fun, with the four gathering in the rehearsal room, jamming for 3-4 hours, and ending with another spritz.

Things moved quickly in the rehearsal room, and in January 2023, the band performed for the first time on a stage in Bucharest. GUANTANAMO also released their first single on March 4, 2023.

The guys know they want chaos in their lives, so they channel it into their music. Their live performances are full of energy, humor, and madness.
