Enslaved will take the stage at ASTRA Rock in Sibiu on Saturday, August 17, 2024. The concert is part of the bilateral initiative GREEN MUSEUMS, funded by the EEA Grants – Bilateral National Fund and implemented by the Project Management Unit of the Ministry of Culture, in partnership with Art and Culture from Norway.

Enslaved is one of Norway’s most renowned metal bands, with a career spanning over 30 years and 16 studio albums released. Their style has evolved over the years from extreme metal to progressive, with lyrics inspired by Norse mythology. In 2008, the album “Vertebrae” was declared one of the best of the year by specialized publications, bringing the band international recognition. Enslaved has a solid reputation on the Nordic music scene, and in 2014, the band members were involved in a government music project celebrating the 200th anniversary of Norway’s Constitution.

The third edition of ASTRA Rock Festival will take place from August 16 to 18, 2024, in the open-air museum of Dumbrava Sibiului.

Following the success of the first two editions, ASTRA Rock 2024 returns to Sibiu not only with a rich offering for music fans but also with gastronomic, literary, artisanal, and educational surprises in the open air, dedicated to the whole family.

Thus, ASTRA Rock Festival will fully offer an authentic Romanian experience, while GREEN MUSEUMS will facilitate Norwegian cultural exchange through a musical performance by the Norwegian band Enslaved on the festival stage.

The GREEN MUSEUMS event will take place between August 16 and 18, 2024.

GREEN MUSEUMS is a bilateral initiative that aims to support an innovative approach to cultural heritage and events, facilitating collaboration between open-air museums and festivals in Romania and Norway that share the desire to offer the public complex experiences, responsibly valuing resources and the environment. The event will take place at the ASTRA Museum, the largest open-air museum in Europe. For an experience that provides a model of good practice, GREEN MUSEUMS will be organized simultaneously with the ASTRA Rock Festival, which, through its multitude of activities, contributes to enhancing the museum’s offerings, audience development, and the promotion of local and national culture.

GREEN MUSEUMS is a bilateral initiative implemented by the Project Management Unit within the Ministry of Culture, as the Operator of the RO-CULTURA Program, in partnership with Art and Culture from Norway, as the Program Partner, and funded with the support of the EEA Grants 2014 – 2021 through the Bilateral National Fund, managed by the National Contact Point within the Ministry of Investments and European Projects.
